Made with a patchwork of washi paper, these lampshades highlight the material and its fibers beautifully, adding a refreshing twist to the timeless but traditional craft. The Kojima family has dedicated 10 generations to crafting Japanese paper lanterns. Their lanterns are called "Kyo Chochin", meaning "Lanterns from Kyoto", and can be distinguished by the use of horizontal bamboo
and one tray
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken items by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer followed by dusting with powdered gold
it can also be used to collect dust from window panes and ceiling beams
and creates a unique opacity
